Is it safe for my mom to volunteer at a hospital while she's on denosumab?

While your mother is taking denosumab, she may be more likely to catch infections, so it may be a good idea for her to stop volunteering at the hospital. She should avoid being around people who are sick with colds or infections. Symptoms of an infection may include:

  •  fever
  • chills
  • sore throat
  • rash
  • burning or pain when she urinates

She should tell her doctor right away if she gets any of these symptoms.
