How is abobotulinumtoxinA used?

AbobotulinumtoxinA injection comes in powder form and is mixed with a liquid and injected into muscles by a doctor. Your doctor will decide the best place to make the injection based on your condition.

Your doctor may give you more injections of abobotulinumtoxinA every three to four months, based on your condition and your response to the treatment.

If you receive abobotulinumtoxinA injection for cervical dystonia, your doctor will likely begin with a low dose and slowly change the dose according to your response.

It is important to remember that one brand or type of botulinum toxin cannot be substituted for another.

AbobotulinumtoxinA injection may help reduce the symptoms of your condition, but it will not cure it. If you are receiving abobotulinumtoxinA for treatment of cervical dystonia, it may take two weeks or longer before you feel the full benefit.
