How do I use cyclobenzaprine (Flexeril)?

The muscle relaxer cyclobenzaprine (Flexeril) should be used exactly as prescribed by the doctor. The doctor and pharmacist will review with you what kind of cyclobenzaprine you are getting, whether it is the immediate release or the extended release. The immediate release tablet is usually taken by mouth three times a day, whereas the extended release capsule is taken by mouth usually once daily. If you need to take the medication longer than three weeks, talk with your doctor.
