Does carisoprodol and aspirin interact with other medications and food?

Carisoprodol and aspirin can potentially interact with a multitude of medications so it is important to talk with your doctor or pharmacist about all medications you are currently taking as well as any you may begin while on carisoprodol and aspirin.
Potential medications that may interact with carisoprodol and aspirin and cause severe fatigue and excessive sleep includes opioid anelgesics, like hydrocodone, sodium oxybate (GHB), benzodiazepines, and tricyclic antidepressants.

Certain medications may also increase the possibility of bleeding in the stomach and other areas of the body. Using celecoxib, dabigatran, ketorolac, certain serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRI's), clopidogrel, and blood thinners like heparin should be avoided without first talking with your doctor.

Tell your doctor's office or pharmacy that you are taking carisoprodol and aspirin before receiving a flu vaccine or any live vaccine. Having the flu or being vaccinated for the flu or other diseases while taking carisoprodol and aspirin may increase your risk of Reye's syndrome, especially in children.

Other medications may magnify certain side effects of carisoprodol and aspirin. Medications that can cause this interaction include non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS), meprobamate, fluvoxamine, and omeprazole.

Carisoprodol and aspirin can also magnify or decrease the effects of other medication you may be on. Medication such as insulin, methotrexate, valproic acid, sulfonylureas, carbonic anhydrase inhibitors, and meglitinide antidiabetics may all have their potency increased by carisoprodol and aspirin. Spironolactone, probenecid and sulfinpyrazone can have their potency decreased when taken with carisoprodol and aspirin.
Avoid using rifampin, urinary alkanizers, St. John's Wort, corticosteroids, and antacids as they could reduce the effectiveness of carisoprodol and aspirin in your system.
Also, let your doctor know about any vitamins or supplements you are on before beginning carisoprodol and aspirin and while you are being treated with carisoprodol and aspirin.
