What are the benefits of cooling therapy for multiple sclerosis (MS)?

Some neurologists believe cooling can have a positive effect on multiple sclerosis (MS) symptoms at any time, not just to counteract heat sensitivity. Studies have shown that lowering the body temperature of some people with MS by just one degree can have dramatic results. Researchers now are looking at simple machines that can lower a person's core temperature -- some as small as a glove -- that would allow cooling therapy to be used easily with few side effects.

Cooling may help with cognition, improve coordination, lessen fatigue and weakness, and even reduce sexual or bladder problems.
