Who should not take lamotrigine?

You should not take lamotrigine if you are allergic to it or to any of the other ingredients found in lamotrigine tablets. In the Lamictal brand of lamotrigine, these other ingredients include lactose, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, povidone, sodium starch glycolate, and various dyes. The generic versions of lamotrigine may have different ingredients. Children less than two years of age should also not take lamotrigine.
