Do not take Lamictal if you are allergic to Iamotrigine. Lamictal should not be used by a child unless it is to control the amount of seizures caused by Lennox-Gastaut syndrome. This is because the prevalence of skin rash as a side effect is much higher in children. In some cases, pregnant women should not take Lamictal. It can also cause cleft palate or lip in a newborn if the medication is taken early in pregnancy.
