Who should not take Intuniv?

Intuniv is intended for children and teens between six and 17 years of age. Children five years of age and under and adults should not take this medication. Children with allergy to any of its ingredients, such as the active ingredient guanfacine or an inactive ingredient such as lactose, should not take Intuniv. Children who take another medication that contains guanfacine should not take Intuniv unless the other medication is stopped. Girls who are pregnant or breastfeeding should not take Intuniv. It has not been studied for use longer than nine weeks.
