What are the side effects of Calan?

There are many side effects related to the use of Calan (verapamil), and they range from mild to severe. Mild side effects associated with Calan include dizziness, headache, heartburn, lightheadedness, and constipation. Calan can also produce serious side effects like fever, stomach pain, flu-like symptoms, yellow skin and eyes, difficulty breathing and swallowing, lack of energy, loss of appetite, fatigue, abnormal bleeding and bruising, rash, nausea, blurred vision, abnormal heartbeat, fainting, and swelling. Symptoms of an overdose include confusion, difficulty breathing and swallowing, blurred vision, irregular heartbeat, seizures, and dizziness. If you experience any of these severe side effects or overdose, or if your milder side effects worsen, you should contact your doctor right away.
