What is the difference between Lamictal, Lamictal XR and lamotrigine?

Lamictal XR refers to the extended-release form of Lamital, whereas, Lamital refers to the immediate release form.  Your doctor will prescribe which type of Lamictal you should take, depending on the condition you have.
