Can I stop taking propranolol if I feel better?

You should not abruptly stop taking propranolol without talking to your doctor. The medicine treats high blood pressure and other conditions, but it is not a cure. If you stop taking it, your blood pressure may go back up and your symptoms may return. You should keep taking it to maintain a normal blood pressure.

Talk to your doctor about if and when you can discontinue this medication. Usually your doctor will decrease your dose over time in order to take you off the medication.
