Who should take cobalt?

Although cobalt deficiencies are rare, you may need to take a cobalt supplement if you have a vitamin B12 deficiency. B12 and cobalt are found in the same foods and work together. In addition, individuals who follow a strict vegetarian or vegan diet may be at risk for a vitamin B12 (and therefore, cobalt) deficiency.
