What is potassium supplement used for?

Potassium supplements are commonly prescribed to offset loss of potassium from the body, which can occur with the use of some diuretic medications. Some examples of potassium supplements include:

  • Some brands of potassium have a waxy residue that may appear in stool (bowel movements). This is normal.
