Does manganese interact with other medications?

Some medications might react poorly with manganese and should be avoided or used with caution while taking the supplement. In particular, certain antibiotics may not work effectively while taking manganese. Additionally, people may take some supplements without realizing that they contain manganese, thus leading to a potential overdose if manganese supplements are taken with them. Always check the labels on supplements to make sure you're not taking more than the maximum daily allowance of manganese (around 11 milligrams for adults). Before staring on manganese, it's a good idea to let your doctor know what medications or supplements you take regularly.
