What are treatment options for the aura phase?

The aura phase is treated by controlling migraine attacks. Patients should be aware of things that can bring on a migraine (triggers such as hunger, stress, or a lack of sleep) as well as effective treatment options. Certain drugs can prevent or stop migraines from getting worse, such as beta-blockers, triptans, and anticonvulsants, while others are used to treat the nausea that may accompany a migraine. These may include antiemetics or prochlorperazine.
