Can mucolipidoses be prevented?

Mucolipidoses cannot be prevented, but procedures can help you make family planning decisions. Pre-implantation testing can be done for couples who are both carriers. An amniocentesis or chorionic villus sampling (CVS) can be done during pregnancy. Your doctor will recommend that you work with a genetic counselor if you are concerned about mucolipidoses.
