Symptoms of stage 4 melanoma begin with growths on the skin. These growths usually involve a change in a mole that you already have, or the melanoma may form a new skin growth. Generally, melanoma is found on skin that's exposed to the sun, but lesions can form anywhere on the skin, including under fingernails and even internally. Other symptoms of melanoma include itchiness, scaliness, or oozing on a skin lesion. In stage 4 melanoma, these cancerous growths have penetrated through the skin and lymph nodes, and the cancer has reached other internal organs.
