How common is stage 2 melanoma?

Not all melanoma necessarily progresses to stage 2 melanoma, and sometimes it's not diagnosed till it's already progressed to later stages. This makes it a bit difficult to determine the number of stage 2 cases of melanoma. In all, more than 53,000 people are diagnosed with any stage of melanoma every year in the United States. The number of new melanoma cases is increasing every year. Talk to your doctor if you think you have symptoms of stage 2 melanoma.
