What should I bring to the hospital if I am having surgery?

Bring the following to the hospital if you are having surgery:
  • A list of any questions or new concerns you want to discuss with your surgeon or your anesthesia provider
  • A friend who can stay with you until the time of surgery
  • A copy of your Advance Directives form (if not already given to your nurse)
  • A pair of slippers with a nonskid sole
  • A pair of flat shoes with nonskid soles to wear during physical therapy
  • Loose, lightweight clothing, such as T-shirts and shorts or sweat pants
  • Pajamas and a robe
  • Underwear
  • Personal-care items such as a toothbrush and deodorant
