Curing malignant mesothelioma may not be possible because the disease is often found in its later stages. However, your outlook will depend on the severity of your disease and your treatment options. Your doctor will determine the stage of your cancer, with stage IV being the most severe. Malignant mesothelioma is a particularly tough cancer to eradicate, and average survival from diagnosis is 21 months if caught in stage I, less than 12 months if in stage IV.
