Malignant mesothelioma is the abnormal growth of cells in the tissue lining that surrounds the organs. Abnormal cells begin to attack nearby healthy tissue, and the cancer can spread to other areas of the body. Malignant mesothelioma typically targets the lungs, heart, stomach, or testicles.
