Anti-malaria medication is currently the best way to treat malaria. However, drug researchers are always working to stay ahead of the constantly evolving drug-resistant strains of malaria parasites. In addition to medication, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is using insecticide-laden mosquito nets, indoor insecticide spraying programs, and intermittent preventive medicines for pregnant women in an attempt to control malaria in areas where the disease is endemic.
