Who should not take magnesium oxide?

People who take certain other medications or have certain medical conditions may not be able to take magnesium oxide. People with heart or kidney disease, diarrhea, appendicitis or an intestinal blockage should ask their doctor before taking magnesium oxide. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should not take magnesium oxide without consulting their doctor. The medication may be unsafe for children under six years of age.
