Does PLCH affect adults differently than children?

Pulmonary Langerhans' cell histiocytosis is pretty rare among children. This disease is most common in adults between the ages of 20 and 40. Also, it primarily affects people who smoke cigarettes, which generally isn't the case among young children. However, other types of Langerhans' cell histiocytosis may affect children, so talk to your doctor if you notice any unusual symptoms in your child.
