Liver ablation techniques are a group of techniques used to treat liver tumors with direct energy like "burning" a tumor. These including Radiowaves (radiofrequency ablation), microwave ablation, cryoablation, and ethanol ablation. Of note, these are all considered secondary options and in general if someone has a removable tumor of the liver then it should be evaluated by a liver surgeon and considered for removal.
