Learning disabilities can be verbal or nonverbal. Common verbal learning disabilities are dyslexia, which causes problems with reading and connecting letters with their sounds; dysgraphia, which causes problems with handwriting and spelling; and dysnomia, which causes problems with word memory. Common nonverbal learning disabilities include dyscalculia, which causes problems learning math and ageometria, which causes problems with logical thinking.
