How do medications treat learning disabilities?

Medications are not often used to treat learning disabilities. However, in some cases, drugs that help children focus and pay attention may be used to increase the effectiveness of treatment. If a child also has another disorder, such as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), medications that treat the additional disorder may be used.
