How do medications treat chronic laryngitis?

Chronic laryngitis can be caused by a variety of things, including acid reflux, alcohol consumption, bulimia, and more. Treatment for the condition, then, focuses on treating the underlying cause, and not all of the underlying causes require medication; most simply require behavior changes, like stopping smoking or drinking or resting your voice. The most common instance in which medication is necessary for chronic laryngitis is when it is caused by a bacterial infection, in which case you may be prescribed an antibiotic to kill the bacteria.
