Do I need to take insulin if I have type 2 diabetes?

Since type 2 diabetes is a progressive disease; people with this type of diabetes eventually may need to use insulin.
You may not need insulin at first, but many people with type 2 diabetes do need insulin as the body loses its ability to process blood glucose over time. If you need insulin, it doesn't mean your you're doing something wrong. The longer you have diabetes, insulin may become the treatment you need to reach your blood glucose targets and feel better.

Most people with type 2 diabetes do not need insulin. You will need insulin only if the cells that make it stop working, or if you need so much insulin (because fat tissue, inflammation or medications make you resistant to its effects) that there is no way for your body to keep up with its own insulin needs.
