What is an automatic injector for insulin use?

An automatic injector is a tool to help you give an insulin injection. It’s a spring-loaded device that holds the syringe and needle. Some injectors can be used with just one hand. These devices are useful for people with needle phobias or who are visually impaired or inexperienced at giving injections.
An automatic injector shoots a needle into your skin. Some automatically release the insulin when the needle hits your skin. With others, you have to press the plunger on the syringe. An automatic injector can be useful if you have arthritis or other problems that make it difficult to hold a syringe steadily. If you cringe at the thought of injecting yourself or don’t like the sight of needles, an automatic injector may be for you.
