How do other illnesses affect ingrown nails?

In general, other illnesses do not affect ingrown nails. However, people with diabetes or other circulatory issues may face more serious complications from ingrown nails. Even though ingrown nails are seemingly minor injuries, diabetes and the like makes it much more difficult for foot wounds to heal properly. Therefore, it is especially important for people with these conditions to properly treat and monitor ingrown nails or risk serious infection.
