Do integrin receptor antagonists interact with any other medications?

Donna Hill Howes, RN
Family Practitioner

If you take an integrin receptor antagonist, you should avoid receiving live vaccines until 3 months after stopping the drug. Inactivated vaccines may not be effective while taking the drug.

If you are taking belimumab, pimecrolimus, tacrolimus, or tofacitinib, integrin receptor antagonists can lead to side effects and should be avoided.

If you are taking denosumab or leflunomide, an integrin receptor antagonist may not be a good option for you.

If you are taking a tumor necrosis (TNF) inhibitor, vedolizumab can lead to side effects and should be avoided.
