Who is affected by granulomatosis with polyangiitis?

The cause of granulomatosis with polyangiitis (GPA), formerly known as Wegener's granulomatosis, is unknown. While this disorder is seen in both males and females of all ages, adults between the ages of 30 and 50 are at the most risk. GPA most often affects Caucasians and is very rare in African-Americans.
