Does phytosterol interact with other medications?

Drug interactions with phytosterols are minimal. Cholestyramine administration should be separated from phytosterol use by two to four hours to avoid binding of the latter in the gut. In addition, it may interact with vitamin E and beta-carotene as well as the medications eztimibe and ezetimibe/simvastatin.
