Side effects of simeprevir and sofosbuvir may include fatigue, headache, irritability, flu-like symptoms, insomnia, shortness of breath, anemia, skin rash, itching, muscle aches, loss of appetite, nausea, and diarrhea. Some people have had severe depression or suicidal thoughts. Your skin may become very sensitive to light, so limit your exposure to the sun.

People of East Asian ancestry tend to have more frequent side effects of simeprevir, including rash and sensitivity to sunlight.
