Hypovolemic shock is extremely serious and requires immediate medical attention. The more blood is lost, and the higher the rate of blood loss, the worse the outcome will be. Untreated hypovolemic shock is likely to result in death. Medical attention does not guarantee survival if bleeding has already escalated out of control.
