What treatment do women receive after a heart attack?

Women receive the same treatments after a heart attack as men. These include:

  • immediate aspirin
  • prompt angioplasty and stent
  • medications to decrease risk factors and improve survival such as statins, beta blockers and antiplatelet drugs such as Plavix
