What are the treatment options for Usher syndrome?

With early identification of children with Usher syndrome, treatment options and educational programs can be put in place. If a child has some hearing, the child might be provided hearing aids, cochlear implants, or some type of assistive listening device. Deaf children will be provided instruction in American Sign Language (ASL). Blind children may be provided Braille training, auditory training, or access to low-vision services.
