Why do men experience hearing loss more than women?

Men do experience more hearing loss than women, but this isn't due to a physical difference (for instance, we know there's no "extra filter" in a man's ear). The culprit? Men are typically involved in occupations associated with louder noises-thus, their hearing loss is attributed to a greater lifetime exposure to noise. And occasionally to being focused on the Bears game on TV.
