Are there alternative treatments for presbycusis?

Presbycusis can be treated by the same means other hearing losses are treated -- hearing aids, cochlear implants for severe cases -- but no alternative treatment has been shown to be effective to prevent or treat age-related hearing loss at this time. Sign language, lip reading, and assistive listening devices can all help you cope with hearing loss. Therapy may help those with presbycusis with the feelings of stress, anxiety, depression, frustration, and isolation that can occur in for those with hearing impairments.
