Should I take a supplement if I am a vegetarian track athlete?

Vegetarian track athletes do not specifically require supplements for proper nutrition. A well-balanced diet with a variety of foods will sustain an athlete for competition. Endurance track athletes may benefit from a gel pack, granola bar, or piece of fruit shortly before an event to help sustain energy during the race.
