Nectarines’ antioxidant flavonoids help protect against free-radical damage. Their nutrient combo also supports healthy skin and immune function. Research suggests nectarines may have anticancer benefits, as well: National Cancer Institute studies found a 40% lower risk of cancers of the esophagus, head and neck among those with the highest intake of fruit from the Rosaceae family, which includes nectarines.
