Every insurance policy has limitations. Travel insurance is no different. That’s why you need to read your policy carefully before signing on the dotted line. But you might need to invest in a quality set of magnifying glasses so that you can actually see all the fine print.

If you’re having trouble figuring out what exactly is covered, call your insurance provider, travel agent, or the Bureau of Consular Affairs (part of the United States Department of State). An agent should be able to walk you through all the details.
