How will healthcare reform help people with no health insurance?

Joane Goodroe
Nursing

The Affordable Care Act requires all people to buy health insurance. If you are employed by a company that has at least 50 employees, the company is required to provide health insurance. This does not include the family of the employee. The cost of insurance for members of the family remains the responsibility of the family.

Health insurance will be an individual responsibility unless the individual is employed and working a minimum of 30 hrs. a week at a company with at least 50 employees. If the company does not provide insurance, the company will pay a penalty to the government.
