Is physical activity safe after a concussion?

Dawn Marcus
Neurology
Resuming activities too quickly after a concussion:
  • Puts you at risk for repeated injury
  • Can delay your recovery
  • Can result in worsening of post-concussion symptoms, like headache
           and dizziness.
After suffering a concussion, you should avoid physical activity or anything that increases the symptoms of the concussion. You cannot participate in these activities until the symptoms have completely cleared.
