What are the treatment options for hypertrichosis?

There are no treatments options for the condition of hypertrichosis itself. However, doctors will treat the problem that is causing the hair growth. If you have an underlying condition, such as hypothyroidism, your doctor will treat that condition. This should result in the disappearance of your hypertrichosis. Your doctor may discontinue a prescribed medication that could be causing you to have hypertrichosis. Otherwise, he will suggest ways in which you can eliminate your unwanted hair.
