Congenital hypertrichosis is only serious to the person experiencing the condition. They will have a lifetime of psychological distress over this condition, not to mention the exhaustive efforts or pain of the hair removal. Hypertrichosis is not serious as its own condition; however, the original cause can be serious, such as a malignancy or AIDS.
