Can hypertrichosis be prevented?

Hypertrichosis can be prevented in several ways. Acquired hypertrichosis can be prevented by not using certain drugs that cause the condition. Avoidance of anabolic steroids by weight lifters and body builders can prevent acquired hypertrichosis from occurring. Congenital hypertrichosis can only be managed and not prevented.
