What are the treatment options for emotional trauma?

Several methods of treatment have been employed in the management of emotional trauma with varying degrees of success. Cognitive-behavioral therapy involves meeting with a counselor or a therapist over a series of sessions to learn to identify and control the emotions associated with the trauma. Group therapy works similarly, except you work through your emotions among other people with similar issues, giving each other support. Additionally, those experiencing emotional trauma can be treated with various medications, including antidepressants and anti-anxiety drugs.
