Anyone allergic to sevelamer should avoid this Renvela. It should not be given to people who do not have severe kidney disease and are not on dialysis. You should not take Renvela if you have a low level of phosphorus in your blood or a blockage in your intestines. Before taking Renvela, you should tell your doctor if you have trouble swallowing, severe constipation, a digestive disorder or if you have recently had surgery on your stomach or intestines. If you have any of these conditions, your doctor may need to perform certain tests, and maybe change the dose of Renvela, before you can safely use this medicine.
